Sell Your Old Stuff and Make Money Online
I
spent the weekend de-cluttering my room, something that I have been trying to
do since so many weeks, and now I have a huge heap of stuff that I do not need.
Clothes, shoes, accessories, computer items and what not. Donating some stuff
away could be a nice idea but is there a way I could resell the stuff and earn
some money? Yes, maybe open a make-shift shop outside my house?

A
number of reselling websites have sprung up in the past some years which
provide a market place for used items that are no more required. These websites
are free to sign and come up with some good features that are user-friendly and
help in earning an extra buck as well. Some of the sites that I found good
enough for the purpose are listed as below:

provide a market place for used items that are no more required. These websites
are free to sign and come up with some good features that are user-friendly and
help in earning an extra buck as well. Some of the sites that I found good
enough for the purpose are listed as below:
1) eBay:
eBay
which started as an auction site is one of the best sites in the world to sell
stuff be it new or used. As they say, ’Anything sells on eBay’. You have to
sign up on the site and list your items. You can compare the prices with other
sellers and thus be able to generate good amount of money. The auction tools
help the buyer to bid for the item and thus keep the prices competitive. You
would need to craft the listing in order to make it more pleasant to the
customer and also better than the competition. A good photograph, descriptive
note would go a great way to sell your item.
2) Craigslist:
This
site is very popular among anyone who is looking for either a service or an
item. The sign up and listing is free but the pickup of the item has to be
arranged. This site can be used to sell larger items like expensive furniture,
machines, bikes etc.

3) Amazon:
Amazon
is one of the top ecommerce sites in the world. Although it mainly is used to
sell new items, it can also be used for old items. There are options of either
a free listing or a paid version. Keep an eye on the cut out that Amazon takes,
could be a bigger chunk of the sale.

4) Quikr/olx:
Sites
like olx.com and quikr.com have come a long way in the past one year providing
a platform for people to sell their used stuff online. These items range from
cars, bikes, jewellery to even rented spaces. There are features of the seller
as well as buyer being notified of listings as per their requirements.

5) Facebook Marketplace:
Facebook
can be used to sell old stuff if you have a good social presence or if your
page has a good amount of traffic. You need to figure out how to add a payment
gateway to the pay (Facebook has a paid option for that) and also the delivery
methods need to be taken care of. If your page gets famous, you can be
benefitted by word of mouth.

6) Etsy:
Etsy
is for items that you make yourself but also for retro and vintage stuff
especially clothes. You can sign up for free and start an online shop where
people would buy your old stuff.
